Dec 13, 2017

On December 7th, JAPAN LIBRARY author Shimada Masakazu spoke to students taking part in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs MIRAI program. Drawing from his research and from his book The Entrepreneur Who Built Modern Japan: Shibusawa Eiichi, Shimada recounted the life of Shibusawa Eiichi and his importance to modern corporate Japan. Later, he posed the question "Do we really need business leaders?" to the group of students hailing from all parts of Europe. The students then broke into small groups to discuss capitalism and the presence of business leaders in their own home countries.
